Solar panels work during daylight, even when it's cloudy or overcast, as they use light, not heat, to generate energy. They don't need direct sunlight, although they'll produce the most electricity when it's sunny.
Solar panels allow households and businesses to generate their own electricity, which reduces their dependence on grid electricity. This can lead to substantial savings on energy bills.
The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) allows solar panel owners to sell excess electricity back to the grid. This provides an additional income stream and further offsets energy costs. To qualify for the SEG utility providers will require a copy of your MCS Certificate. This is something that can only be provided by an MCS Installer. Lectec Ltd are Accredited with MCS and can therefore provide you with this Certification.
The UK government supports the adoption of renewable energy through various incentives and grants. These can reduce the initial installation costs of solar panels, making solar energy a more attractive investment. Contact us to find out what current incentives there are in place.
By switching to solar energy, households and businesses contribute to reducing carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels, promoting a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
Some people may feel that Solar Panels visually unappealing or detract from the aesthetics of their homes or buildings. However Solar Panels have developed over time and have become sleeker in design. There is also the option to have built in panels, thus looking as though they are part of the roof.
