An Air Source Heat Pump is a system that extracts heat from the outside air and uses it to heat your home and water. Even in colder temperatures, these pumps can efficiently generate heat, making them suitable for the UK's varying climate. ASHPs operate similarly to a refrigerator but in reverse, absorbing heat from the air and releasing it inside your home.
A Heat Pump can be a cost effective way of heating your home. The amount of heat produced for every unit of electricity used is known as the Coefficient of Performance (CoP). For every 1Kw of Electricity used, this would provide 3.0Kw of Heat *

Prices for a Heat Pump can vary considerably depending on the design and requirements of the home owner. There is not a one size fits all and full Heat Loss calculations need to be completed.

Installing an Air Source Heat Pump can reduce your bills, however, this is dependant upon the Installation being designed correctly for your property. It is therefore essential to ensure that your Installer performs a site visit at your property to take the necessary information to calculate the design correctly.
Air source heat pumps are generally considered permitted development in the UK, meaning planning permission is usually not required. Ground source heat pumps also typically don’t require planning permission, but it’s best to check with your local authority. If in doubt please check.
